The Hecker Homestead

This brick home dates to 1860.  It was owned by Henry Hecker and the cost to build was $1,115.00.  The northwest wing was built with two upper and two lower rooms.  The south wing was added in 1872.  Limestone lintels are found above and below the windows.  The property remained in the Hecker family, followed by the Eckler family through marriage.  When the property was sold to a developer, the owner requested that the house be kept and adaptively reused.  The exterior retains the 1860 architecture.
