The Jayne House

This magnificent village home was built by William C. and Etta Proper Jayne.   William was co-owner of the Jayne and Mason Bank in the Village of Webster.  The home was designed by architect W. F. Sharp and is located on the corner of Curtice Park and East Main Street. This Queen Ann-style house was built between 1917 and 1918 and it features a large round tower and six porches.  Construction materials include narrow Roman brick, cast stone, stucco, wood detailing, and stunning ceramic roof tiles.  The interior has maintained many original features including its beautiful chestnut woodwork, stained glass windows, and hexagonal floor tiles in the kitchen and butler’s pantry.  The second floor has five bedrooms and two full baths.

The property is listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places.
