The Calvary Chapel of Webster is a non-denominational Christian Church that was formed as a fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ. In 1990, the Webster members of the Farmington Calvary Chapel of the Finger Lakes began holding Bible study meetings in their homes led by various Webster members, including Pastor Jim Cortina. In 1991 the Calvary Chapel of Webster was incorporated in New York State and began meeting at the Webster Recreation Center on Ebner Rd. The church moved to 106 Commercial St in 1992 and Ray Thomkins became the pastor. He remains the pastor today. In 1994 the church was able to purchase a building at 1310 Five Mile Line Rd. where they held their services for the next 10 years.
By 2004, The Calvary Chapel had grown to a point where it needed more space. The church sold the property on Five Mile Line Rd. to the Webster Montessori School and purchased land at 770 Basket Rd. where it remains today.
In addition to ministries for men, women and children, Calvary Chapel supports missionaries throughout the world. Members regularly take short trips to visit these missions and organizations: Far Reaching Ministries, Amazon Reach, Uganda Kids Project and Agents for Christ, Calvary Way, Raul and Lydia Ramos, Pastor Peter Will, CC Hanover, Germany, Ed and Sandy Zogg, Dominican Republic, Koinonia Surco Calvary Chapel, Lima, Peru; Joe and Rachel McGee, Alaska; Steve and Tina Same, Arise and Shine Evangelical Association and Embracing Options.
